Appointment of Assoc. Prof. Marie-Kathrin Breyer, MD, PhD as head of institute
Now it’s official: as of January 1st 2024, Assoc. Prof. Marie-Kathrin Breyer, MD, PhD has been appointed as head of institute of Ludwig Boltzmann Institute forLung Health! We congratulate her warmly!
In addition to her role as head of the department of Respiratory and Pulmonary Diseases at Clinic Penzing in Vienna, as well as supervising medical students at the Sigmund Freud Private University and the Medical University of Vienna, she was already responsible as deputy director of the institute since 2021 and scientifically for the institute since 2012. She is a specialist in internal medicine, pneumology and intensive care medicine. She is also a founding member and scientific director of the LEAD study, Vienna’s largest lung health cohort study.
