Robab Breyer-Kohansal

She is head of the Department for Respiratory and Lung Diseases at Clinic Hietzing in Vienna since 2022.

From 2018 to 2022, she was a senior physician and intensive care specialist at the respiratory physiology unit and sleep laboratory at the Department for Respiratory and Lung Diseases at Clinic Penzing in Vienna.

In 2021 she successfully defended her habilitation on the topic “Factors Associated with Low Lung Function in Different Age Bins in the General Population” at the Paracelsus Medical University, Salzburg.

She is founding member of the Austrian LEAD Study.

Since 2018 she is one of the group leaders of  CADSET (Chronic Airway DiSeases Early sTratification), a paneuropean network of  the European Respiratory Society (ERS) committed to promoting clinical research in chronic airway diseases.

She supervises medical students at Sigmund Freud University Vienna and the Medical University  Vienna in the preparation of their master’s and diploma theses.

In the cooperative study programme between LEAD Study and the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands, she is supervisor of the PhD students.

She is lecturing at the Medical University of Vienna since 2012 as well as at the Sigmund Freud University Medical School since 2015.

From 2010 to 2013 she worked as the local secretary of the annual congress of the Austrian Society of Pneumology.

She received a long-term fellowship from the ERS at the Department of Epidemiology and Clinical research at the International Centre for Advanced Respiratory Medicine (CIMERA) Spain in 2007.
