NCP-IP World IP Day Event 2024
Innovation drivers in the life sciences industry: How can artificial intelligence, collaborative formats and standardization advance the exploitation of knowledge?
The life sciences sector has always been at the forefront of protecting innovation and making the best use of knowledge, adhering to standards and successfully transferring research results to the market. Expanded framework conditions such as artificial intelligence and machine learning open up new opportunities for the industry, but also present it with challenges that are still unknown in some cases. The involvement of new (collaborative) partners in life science research could also have a lasting impact on the industry.
In particular, the new EU recommendations for better valorisation of knowledge and its implementation in the national context will have a significant impact on the exploitation of innovations as well as their protection, far beyond the life sciences industry.
In several keynote speeches and a panel discussion, to which our institute director, Prim.a Priv.-Doz.Dr. Marie-Kathrin Breyer, PhD is invited as an expert, the following questions will be examined:
Against the backdrop of a changing economic and regulatory environment, how do I protect my innovations in order to optimally transfer the acquired knowledge to social and economic benefits? How do I set up successful collaborations in the life sciences sector on an equal footing? What role does standardization play in the life science innovation chain?
