Since January 2024 she is Research Group Leader at LBI for Lung Health.

In 2022, she was appointed as a University Professor at the Chair of Pneumological Infectiology and Respiratory Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Sigmund Freud University Vienna.

From May 2015-December 2022 she was head of the Department for Respiratory and Lung Diseases at Clinic Penzing in Vienna.

From 2021 – December 2023 she was director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Health. Furthermore she is a founding member of the Austrian LEAD Study.

She completed successful her habilitation procedure at the Paracelsus Medical University, Salzburg, in 2020.

She completed an Master of Business Administration in health care management at Vienna University Economics and Business in 2015.

She is Associate Professor for Pneumology at the Sigmund Freud University Medical School Vienna since 2017.

From 2010 to 2013 she was president of the Austrian Society of Pneumology.Between 2007 and 2010 she served as Secretary General of the European Respiratory Society (ERS).
