Hazim Abozid, one of our external PhD students, defended his PhD thesis on „Chronic Cough Revisited“ on 24th of February at Maastricht University! Summary: This PhD thesis investigates chronic cough, a common condition that is associated with a substantial health burden yet remains insufficiently characterized at different levels. Using large-scale, population-based data, the thesis examines the prevalence, determinants, and clinical impact of chronic cough across different regions and populations. It provides a comprehensive perspective on chronic cough, combining epidemiological, structural, functional, and quality-of-life perspectives demonstrating its relevance as a distinct clinical entity and its importance for respiratory health, public health policy, and future research.
